4 Lives Changed During Eye Care Awareness Month

Eye Care Awareness Month is commemorated from 21 September to 18 October to raise awareness about the importance of eye health, specifically around the prevention and treatment of avoidable blindness. Cure Paarl took part again in the Right to Sight project where we made a difference in 4 patients’ lives with free cataract surgeries. Dr Magdel Putter from Paarl Eyecentre performed the surgeries.‌

OSSA Right to Sight Trust encourages ophthalmologists to support the Second Sight Project by including some pro-bono cataract procedures on their private cataract surgery lists throughout the year and by supporting Eye Care Awareness Week in October. Thank you to Paarl Eye Centre, Dr Putter, and the medical companies that participated in this year’s Right to Sight project.
