Dr. Derik du Toit is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in lower limb surgery, with expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty and foot and ankle conditions. He graduated MBChB Cum Laude and completed his specialist training with distinction. His advanced training includes fellowships in Hip & Knee Arthroplasty (UCT) and Foot & Ankle Surgery (Wits).
In private practice since 2022. His work spans elective and trauma related foot and ankle care, as well as primary and revision joint replacement. Dr du Toit is active in research, contributes to national conferences, and is a member of the South African Orthopedic Association. He is committed to patient education, clear communication, and evidence-based treatment. Outside of practice, he enjoys family time, gym training, sport shooting, hiking, and the outdoors.
He makes use of the Cure Day Hospitals Erasmuskloof facility for day procedures like hardware removal, debridement, tendon synovectomies, tarsal tunnel releases, knee arthroscopies and more.
