Dr. Reynard Immelman is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in complex hip and knee surgery, including joint replacement and sports-related pathology.
After his specialist orthopaedic training he was selected for a highly sought-after fellowship in Complex Hip and Knee Surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. During this intensive 12-month program, he gained advanced experience in both conservative and surgical management of complex hip and knee conditions.
Dr. Immelman’s areas of expertise include:
- Complex total hip and knee replacements
- Robotic-assisted total and partial knee and hip arthroplasty
- Complex soft tissue sports surgery of the hip and knee
- Rheumatologic joint care
Since 2019, Dr. Immelman has been in full-time private practice in Pretoria East, where he serves as a high-volume hip and knee replacement surgeon and performs a wide range of arthroscopic sports procedures. When working at Cure Day Hospitals Erasmuskloof, he performs procedures like hip and shoulder arthroscopies, ACL reconstructions, labrum repairs, meniscectomies, rotator cuff repairs and hip infiltrations, to mention a few.
