Dr Venter is an active member of SASSH.
Dr Venter’s research on concussion in mixed martial arts athletes was published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. Her research on multi-ligament knee injuries was published in an international journal and presented at various congresses.
She was recently elected as director of the South African Medico-legal Association, serving as the chairperson of the legal and ethics committee.
Dr Venter is an avid sportswoman, ranked number one in her age group in the South-African Tennis Masters division. She has earned Protea colours in various sports, representing her country internationally in karate, mixed martial arts and tennis. Dr Venter worked as team doctor for the Blue Bulls Rugby Union during the 2016 .
She predominantly does tendon synovectomies, bursa and ganglia excisions, capsulotomies, arthrotomies, neuroma excisions, neurolysis, tendon releases, debridement of wounds and carpal tunnel release, to name a few.
