Cure Paarl was in the fortunate position to host a dental CSI project on the 20 April and we assisted 6 children from Paarl and Wellington with much needed dental procedures. The Covid pandemic had a huge impact on available theatre time for dental cases at Paarl Provincial hospital and Cure Paarl approached TC Newman to identify children that needed urgent dental procedures. Dr Scheffers dentist from Wellington Community Clinic did the pre-screening and assisted with the dental material for the procedures. Pathcare, Cure and Wellington Community Clinic sponsored the Covid testing. Dr Tania Pretorius (Specialist), Dr Talitha Harvey (Medical officer) both Anaesthetist from Paarl Provincial Hospital assisted in theatre.
A huge thank you to our Cure theatre and ward staff, Drs Gaffoor and Dr Scheffers (Dentist), Drs Pretorius and Harvey, Pathcare and Tracey Oliver from Safeline that donated the Anaesthetist gas.
