Maintaining A Healthy Body And Mind During Coronavirus Lockdown

In the midst of these unsettling times of the Coronavirus lockdown, it can be difficult to know how to maintain a healthy body and mind when you’re confined to your home.

It’s time to create a new routine for yourself that focuses on your health!

Get A Good Night’s Sleep

Sleep is essential to your overall wellbeing. Sleep assists with breaking down toxins, storing memories and repairing cells.

Try and maintain a regular sleeping pattern, ensuring you receive approximately eight hours of sleep every night. This lockdown could be the rest that your body needed!

Eat Clean

Food plays an important role in the health of both your body and mind. While it may be tempting to stock up on junk and comfort food, you should try your level best to eat healthily during this time.

Eating healthily will boost your immune system and build up a barrier between you and the virus. Try out new recipes with fresh ingredients and eat a balanced diet with foods that are rich in vitamins.

Keep in Touch

If this lockdown has shown us anything, it’s a new appreciation for our loved ones! Luckily, in this modern age, keeping in touch couldn’t be easier.

Ensure that you are checking in with your friends and family to see how they are handling the lockdown. If you are isolating by yourself, daily phone calls will do wonders for your mental state.

 Daily Exercise

While exercising is quite obviously good for your body, it can do wonders for maintaining a healthy mind. The endorphins released during physical exertion make you feel motivated and positive!

While team sports may be unavailable at present, there are plenty home workout tutorials out there for you to try!

Relax And Unwind

The emotional, financial and physical strains of the Coronavirus lockdown can truly affect you. Stress is not healthy for your body or mind, and can even affect your health and immune system.

Try and do relaxing activities every day, such as gardening, playing an instrument, doing yoga, painting or trying meditation.
