Making a meaningful difference through the gift of sight.

As part of the celebration of Eye Week, Cure Day Hospital Wilgeheuwel proudly conducted a CSI initiative on 15 October 2026, providing life-changing cataract surgery to 8 deserving patients from our community.

This initiative was aimed at restoring sight and improving quality of life for individuals who would not otherwise have had the opportunity to access this essential procedure. Through the generosity and collaboration of our medical partners and sponsors, these patients were able to receive the care they needed, giving them renewed independence and the ability to engage more fully in their daily lives.

The success of this project would not have been possible without the invaluable support of our sponsors. We extend our sincere gratitude to Ophthalmic Surgical Innovations, Alcon, Envision, Ophtec, and Occulate for their generous donation of stock and resources. Their commitment to improving access to eye care played a vital role in making this initiative a reality and ensuring a positive outcome for all patients involved.

We would also like to thank the surgeons, theatre teams, and staff members who dedicated their time and expertise to this worthy cause. Through partnerships such as these, we continue to make a meaningful impact in our community and support those most in need of quality healthcare services.
