At Cure Day Hospitals Erasmuskloof, together with our experienced team of orthopedic surgeons, pain management specialists and skilled nursing team, we remain committed to delivering excellent, same-day surgical care with precision, comfort, and efficiency.
On 19 January 2026 Cure Day Hospitals Erasmuskloof welcomed our new GE C-Arm to the facility. GE prides itself in providing imaging with a large field of view optimized to clearly visualize orthopedic anatomy, such as the entire long bone femur or minute fractures in extremities. A clear display with comfortable viewing can easily show AP and lateral views, enabling efficient procedure planning.
The use of a C-Arm in a day hospital setting:
The use of a C-arm in a day hospital or ambulatory surgical setting provides high-resolution, real-time X-ray imaging (fluoroscopy) that is essential for minimally invasive, outpatient procedures. Its mobility allows it to be easily transported between operating rooms, aiding in faster turnaround times and enabling surgeons to visualize internal structures during procedures without requiring large incisions, which facilitates quicker recovery for patients.
In our environment at Cure Day Hospitals Erasmuskloof, the C arm will mainly be applied for Orthopedic surgery and Pain management:
- Orthopedics: Used for fracture reduction, joint reconstruction, and guiding the placement of screws, rods, and plates with high precision.
- Pain Management: Crucial for image-guided injections, nerve blocks, and ablations.
