An excerpt from Florence Nightingale’s Pledge was taken by Nurses and commemorated on the 12 May every year on Florence Nightingales’ birthday.
“I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, with loyalty will I endeavour to aid the physician in his work and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care.”
This relates perfectly to our team of Hospital Managers who fulfill this pledge every day and combine their role and responsibilities as leading their hospital family as well as being a group of wives, daughters, partners, and mothers to 7 daughters and 7 sons and even three being esteemed (glamorous) and proud grandmothers.
They are all Registered Nurses with theatre qualifications including 5 degrees, 2 advanced degrees, and 5 diplomas as well as other qualifications including an IT engineering diploma and a computer programmer placing 1st in the country at the time.
They are a compassionate, experienced group of individuals who collectively can share 524 years of life experience including over 300 years collectively of nursing experience and over 200 years of theatre experience. Combined, they have served as Cure Hospital Managers for a combined 43 years.
“Leadership is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.” - Sheryl Sandberg (COO, Facebook)
We salute and thank our Hospital Managers for the leadership role they play in upholding the reputation of their chosen profession as well as our CURE values.
