Dr Geraldine Jahn is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery.
She developed an interest in medicine in her teens thanks to interactions with physiotherapists and surgeons when she represented South Africa as a gymnast. After matriculating with distinction from Waterkloof High School, she went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree (MBChB) from the University of the Free State in 2015.
She earned her master’s degree (MMed) cum laude from the University of Pretoria in 2022, achieving the highest mark in South Africa for Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the final exam.
This stellar academic record is matched by extensive experience in both the public and private healthcare sectors, starting with an internship at the Kalafong Tertiary Hospital in Pretoria and as a Community Service Medical Officer (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) at Klerksdorp Hospital in Northwest Province.
More recently she has filled the role of Assistant Surgeon to the widely respected Prof LC Snyman at Netcare Pretoria East and as Registrar Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Pretoria.
Now based at the ultramodern Mediclinic Midstream, Dr Jahn’s expertise and passion for her speciality is at the disposal of those in Centurion and the greater Tshwane area seeking an empathetic, evidence-based approach to patient care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
“For me, being a doctor goes beyond providing excellent medical care, it’s also about being friendly, having good bedside manners and making patients feel comfortable,” she says.
Out of work hours, she relishes spending quality time with her husband, family and friends. A Cross-Fit enthusiast until recently, she enjoys training and is a firm believer in leading a balanced life.
Dr Jahn operates at both Mediclinic Midstream and Cure Day Hospital Midstream.
