Dr van Wyk holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Stellenbosch University and completed her internship and community service at Kimberley Hospital.
She completed her specialist training in Ophthalmology through the University of the Witwatersrand and the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, with extensive experience gained at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. Her clinical interests include cataract surgery and outpatient ophthalmic care, and she is known for her collaborative and patient-centred approach.
Dr van Wyk has presented at key national ophthalmology conferences, including the South African Glaucoma Society (SAGS) 2024, the South African Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (SASCRS) 2024, and the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa (OSSA) Congress in 2025.
Fluent in English and Afrikaans, she is committed to advancing her surgical skills and contributing meaningfully to the field of ophthalmology in South Africa.
