We are excited to welcome Dr V Thomas, Endometriosis and Fibroid Specialist, to the team of Cure Day Hospitals Foreshore.
Dr Viju Thomas is an endometriosis specialist, South Africa’s first robotic Endometriosis Surgeon, and the country’s first dedicated Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) specialist for fibroids and adenomyosis. Endometriosis will always be the foundation of his work, but as the needs of his patients evolved, so did his mission. Seeing the lack of effective, uterus-preserving options for women with fibroids and adenomyosis, Dr Thomas introduced RFA to South Africa for the first time — bringing not only the technique, but also the training, technology and long-term vision needed to make modern, less invasive care accessible to women. RFA offers a meaningful alternative to major surgery, allowing women to treat these conditions while preserving their uterus. Dr Thomas continues to travel internationally to learn from leading centres and stay at the forefront of global advances, bringing that knowledge and expertise back to South Africa. Today, he leads one of the only centres in Africa dedicated exclusively to endometriosis, fibroids and adenomyosis, driven by a simple belief: women deserve better choices, better treatment and care that truly puts them first.
