It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Mr. Koert Pretorius as an independent non-executive director to the board of Cure Day Hospitals, with immediate effect.
Mr. Pretorius brings with him a wealth of experience and a remarkable journey within the healthcare sector. He joined Mediclinic in 1998 as Regional Manager for the central region of operations in Southern Africa. In 2003, he assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer of the Mediclinic Group. His leadership and dedication were further recognised when he was appointed CEO of the Southern Africa operations in 2008. Mr. Pretorius also served as an executive director of Mediclinic International Limited from 2006 until the acquisition of Al Noor Hospitals Group plc. In April 2022, he assumed the position of Group Chief Operating Officer, marking yet another significant milestone in his illustrious career. He also served as a member of the board of directors of the Mediclinic Group under the new private ownership structure until his retirement from Mediclinic on 31 March 2024.
Mr. Pretorius holds a BCompt in Accounting Science from the University of the Free State and a Master of Business Leadership from Unisa.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Pretorius held numerous previous board positions and is actively involved as a founding member of the newly established Healthcare Advisory Network and is a trustee of the Ring for Peace Cape Trust, an initiative dedicated to addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
