Dr Hentas Van Zyl is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with SAOA-accredited fellowship training in hand and upper limb surgery. He graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2009 and completed his internship and community service in Pietermaritzburg and Kimberley, respectively.
Dr Van Zyl completed his orthopaedic training at Stellenbosch University in 2021, where he was awarded the prestigious JM Edelstein Medal by the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons of South Africa. His training includes both general orthopaedic trauma as elective conditions.
His fellowship training focused on both elective hand and upper limb conditions as well as complex upper limb trauma. Following this, he was appointed as a senior lecturer at Stellenbosch University and a specialist in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tygerberg Hospital.
In his spare time, Dr Van Zyl enjoys spending time with his family, participating in general sports and trail running.
